Michael Moore (Explained)
Hollywood's Love Affair With Michael Moore (Explained) By Daniel G. Jennings In the last two months patriotic Americans have become increasingly disgusted with the behavior of one Michael Moore, a documentary film maker considered a genius by the Hollywood establishment. Average Americans were outraged with Moore's vicious attack on President Bush at the Academy Awards, yet he received the best Oscar Award for his documentary "Bowling for Columbine" (which blamed the Columbine High School Massacre on the U.S. military). Now if that wasn't bad enough the geniuses at the Walt Disney Company have given Moore the green light (that is financed) his next masterpiece "Fahrenheit 911." This abomination will try to show audiences that the US government and President Bush were somehow to blame for Osama Bin Laden and the Sept. 11 atrocity. Why, we must ask ourselves does Hollywood love Michael Moore and keep bankrolling his brand of lunacy? For several reasons, which reveal the hypocrisy, lack of morality and sheer stupidity of the ignorant, uneducated, bigoted, greedy and arrogant elite that runs our entertainment industry. The first reason Disney is bankrolling this nonsense is a simple one: it amounts to pure profit. Moore's documentary will cost only a couple of million bucks to produce. (A million for Moore, a few hundred thousand more for actual production costs.) Yet it could bring tens of millions of dollars of profit into the cash strapped Disney empire. "Fahrenheit 911" will surely attract large numbers of arrogant left wing intellectuals to art house movie theaters around the US. These people will pour in and pay $8 or $10 a pop to see Moore's nonsense. Even if it earns only ten or twenty million bucks in domestic release. It'll generate a nice chunk of change for Disney. There's also the shock factor here, Disney executives seeing the big money brought in by reality TV and the MTV Jackass movie may hope that the shocking nature of Moore's film will attract viewers. They maybe thinking that they can create a profitable brand of reality movies by promoting controversial propaganda that makes absurd and shocking conclusions. These executives may hope that lots of people buy tickets simply to see if the rumors about Moore and his movie are true. Then there's the overseas market. This horrendous documentary will undoubtedly attract huge audiences in Europe, the Middle East, Russia, China and other places will large numbers of people hate us. It'll pack them in, in Cairo and Paris and Beijing and make more money over there. More importantly it'll establish Disney's reputation as a staunchly anti-American company overseas. Deflecting the mouse factory from terrorist violence and boycotts. The second reason for Disney and Hollywood's embrace of Moore is one of convenience rather than ideology. In recent years, Hollywood has taken a lot of flack for promoting violence. The Columbine gunmen seem to have inspired by violent films like the Matrix. Al Queada and other violent Islamic fanatics have also been inspired to a high degree by violent Hollywood movies. American action films make big money in the Arab world. The same young men who blow themselves and Americans up love to watch videos of really violent films like the Matrix and Rambo. The anti Americanism of many of these movies, (such as the plot line of the X-Men sequel X-2 in which U.S. military personnel are shown as Nazi type storm troops who terrorize innocent children and plot genocide) are a blatant attempt to market these movies to American hating young people overseas. Sadly enough, only one person in Hollywood seemed to draw the obvious connection between these violent fantasies and the Sept. 11 events. The iconoclastic film maker Robert Altman (best known as the creator of the movie version of "MASH") said Hollywood's big budget action movies helped inspire the 9 11 terrorists. Altman is a cantankerous gadfly who long ago cut his ties with the Hollywood establishment. Not surprisingly, Altman wasn't invited to the podium to pick up the Oscar for best director for his latest film, "Gosford Park," despite his long and distinguished career. If large segments of the public can be convinced that the evil military industrial complex is responsible for the violence. Hollywood is off the hook. It doesn't have to worry about censorship, boycotts and government interference. Hollywood celebrities don't have to clean up their act and start behaving responsibly. Executives don't have to change plot lines or stop making profitable movies that might be too violent or offensive. Since Hollywood's leaders can't come out and say these things publicly, (this would attract too much attention to Tinseltown's promotion of violence and anti-Americanism). The movie industry quietly finances propagandists like Moore who spread its sick message in a quiet almost underground campaign of lies. Finally by bankrolling Moore, the Hollywood elitists can feel like radicals and intellectuals rather than pampered and greedy entertainers. When average Americans criticize them they can feel like activists suffering for the cause rather than rich hypocrites. They can feel morally superior to the rest of us when they are clearly morally inferior to average people. It is time that average Americans gave Michael Moore and his superiors in Hollywood the attention they deserve: no attention. For the best way to put a stop to buffoons like Michael Moore is to ignore their antics. If Moore's little exercise in Hate America propaganda has no effect Hollywood will stop bankrolling such nonsense.

North Korea
Mood:
caffeinated
In the last few months American TV viewers and newspaper readers have been deluged with all manner of claims about North Korea and the North Korean military. The refrain is this, the US can't attack North Korea because the North Korean military is too powerful. The North Korean army outnumbers our army. North Korea has hundreds of fighter planes and thousands of tanks. We can't attack because in the first few hours of the war, hundreds of North Korean artillery pieces would open fire and destroy the South Korean capitol of Seoul. North Korean soldiers would fight fanatically and kill tens of thousands of American troops. Now where have we heard this line of nonsense before? From the same self proclaimed military experts talking about another potential enemy Iraq. Remember IRaq had hundreds of fighter planes and thousands of tanks. Iraq's army outnumbered ours before the first Gulf War. Yet on two seperate occassions the US military and its allies had no trouble completely defeating the Iraqi military. In the last war the Iraqi air force didn't even take to the air and most Iraqi soldiers ran away. Given the media's track record of predicting military outcomes my guess is that North Korea could turn out to be even more of a pushover than Iraq. North Korea's military is more primitive than IRaq's it's weapons and vehicles are strictly of 1950s vintage. Many of its tanks and planes are so old they may no longer run because spare parts are no longer available and there is no fuel for them anyway. Much of North Korean is blacked out because it's out of fuel. It's tactics come straight out of World War II. Besides a few skirmishes North Korean military forces haven't fired a shot in anger since 1950. Arrayed against this third world force are two of the most advanced and professional military forces in the World armed with the latest weapons employing the latest tactics. Military forces with plenty of fuel and spare parts and vehicles. How is the North Korean peasant army with its ancient AK-47s supposed to stand up to that? Yes, the North Korean artillery could open up on Seoul but destroy the city come on. Are the South Korean and US military forces going to sit by and let the Communists destroy Seoul? Of course not, a few minutes after the first shell was fired on Seoul, US and South Korean planes, tanks, artillery, helicopters, missiles and infantry would be hitting the North Korean artillery with everything they had. My guess is that most of the North Korean artillery would be destroyed in the first hour of the war and most of the North Korean soldiers would be running for Pyonging. Or surrendering en mass. Another prediction the second Korean War would last about two weeks. Within two weeks of the war's beginning American and South Korean soldiers would be in Pyonging toppling the statues of Kim Po Yi and his father Kim Il Sung. The mighty North Korean Army would be surrendering en mass and the self proclaimed military experts in our news rooms would be nowhere to be seen.

North Korea, and Anti-Americanism
Mood:
quizzical
There was only one thing that stood out in Sunday's newspaper. James Brady's article in the Parade Magazine. Brady, a veteran of the Korean War, was writing about his recent trip to South Korea. He revealed something very frightening. Young South Koreans are hostile to the presence of American troops in that country for the express purpose keeping South Korea safe from Communist goon Kim Po Yi and his thug army. An officer interviewed by Brady said that he had been stabbed by a South Korean peace protestor. A GI told Brady that US soldiers no longer use Seoul's subway system because young South Koreans spit on him. One of the officers told Brady that many if not most 18 and 19 year old South Koreans believe that the US not the Communists started the Korean War. Where would these young people get this idea and so much hostility to America? Simple the U.S. media and Hollywood. These young people learn about America through big budget movies like the X-Men sequel X-2 which shows the US military as Nazis who manufacture fake attacks to justify attrocities against innocent people. Isn't time that our leaders started taking the media moguls who profit from such garbage to task. Fox owner Rupert P. Murdoch whose company produced and released X-2 recently appeared before Congress yet not a single legislator took him to task for promoting his anti-American propagand. Why? The brave young Americans serving in Korea might like an answer to this question.

Hate Speech
The Only Permissible Kind of Hate Speech: America Bashing By Daniel G. Jennings The left has long made a crusade of suppressing what it likes to call hate speech. That is any language that leftist intellectuals find to be racist, sexist or biased in any way. Unfortunately, there is one kind of hate speech that the left not tolerates but embraces, supports and promotes: speech that promotes hatred of America. Anti-American hate speech is heard everywhere these days at peace rallies, college graduation ceremonies, the Academy Awards, college classrooms, in big budget movies, in best selling novels and non fiction books almost everywhere. Major celebrities who get tainted by even a hint of racism or anti-Semitism become pariahs. Yet major celebrities who bash America, who call Americans evil and Americans predators or nonsense are monsters. In the last two months we've seen a big budget movie aimed at youth that portrays the US military as Nazis, (the X-Men sequel X-2), a distinguished author and journalist calling Americans predators in a graduation speech, and Disney bankrolling a documentary created by film maker Michael Moore that blames America for the Sept. 11 atrocity. This sort of nonsense is tolerated and celebrated in modern America. Just imagine the reaction if a big budget movie promoted the idea of the world Jewish conspiracy, a distinguished author and journalist talked of the racial inferiority of black people at a college graduation or a distinguished film maker wanted to make a documentary that proved all gays were child molesters. Such bigoted expressions of opinion would never be tolerated. The claims made are false and harm innocent people. Yet the same people are willing to tolerate and even promote anti-American hate speech. Vicious attacks on America and American life that add up to nothing but shallow and shrill propaganda. Yes, as Americans we have a duty to respect the opinions of others. However, it is the duty of all thinking people to denounce hate speech in whatever form it takes and whoever it targets. It is time that the left started applying their own standards to the torrent of vicious anti-American hate speech pouring out of our news and entertainment media and academia. Perhaps then people will believe that their campaign against hate speech is genuine.

New American Century
America embarks upon a New Century We are at the dawn of what is being called a "New American Century"what this means is that America is triumphant and dominant throughout the world. Our economy is the world's richest, our technology is the most advanced, our military is the most powerful and most advanced in the world, our culture has become the world's dominant culture and the rest of the world has essentially adopted our political system and philosophy of government or at least pays lip service to it. American domination of the world isn't a fantasy or a dream, it's a fact, it's a reality that we're living in. Like it or not, for better or worse America dominates the world. In a way America owns the world. We can't ignore this reality or pull away from it we have to rise to the challenge and use our position to make the world a better place. To use our military might, technological power and economic strength to help the people of the world overcome poverty, oppression, violence, ignorance, war, tyranny, terrorism, disease, hunger and the rest of the monsters that still plague most of the globe's population. We must end the destruction and devastation of the environment, feed the hungry, free the slaves, topple the tyrants, wipe out or at least tame the terrorists and do a million other things. These tasks won't be easy, they'll be expensive and painful requiring great sacrifice from both Americans and foreigners. Unlike the naysayers in the media and the morons on the left I think America can rise to this challenge and meet it magnificently. As the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq prove today's Americans are just as tough, brave and dedicated as the generation of World War II and guess what we're a lot smarter and more sophisticated than that generation. The next few decades are going to be tough ones for America and the world. We're likely to see more terrorism and violence from unexpected quarters, new diseases like SARS appear, economic dislocation on a vast scale, environmental devastation and suffering caused by global warming and related phenomenons, the depletion of the oil reserves and the collapse of the traditional nation state in many areas of the world, societies we thought stable and enduring will collapse into anarchy, political orders will crumble like poorly built structures during earth quakes, we'll see new barbarism, new violence, new problems everywhere. Yet we'll see new opportunities. We'll make new friends even as old ones stab us in the back. Old enemies will become staunch allies and old allies implacable enemies. In particular an opportunity for America to build a genuine new world order. To bring capitalism and democracy to every corner of the world. To help the poor people of Africa, Latin America and Asia get out of the slums to lay the basis for a democratic world government and a just world order. To put an end to poverty, hunger, war, oppression, tyranny and slavery in human history. It won't be an easy task we'll run into lots of opposition from traditional elites that don't want to loose their power and would be elitists who see us as a threat to their potential power. Fanatics will hate us and try to kill us, intellectuals will bad mouth us and attack us, religious fanatics will call us the devil, political fanatics will brand us imperialists, foreign leaders will pretend to be our friends and stab us in the back. Despots will take our money and use it to buy weapons to use against us. There will be lots of wars too, but no great wars. Small wars like that in Afghanistan battles in jungles, in mountains and back alleys of cities great and small. There will be no great battles or mighty air strikes, no need for battleships or flying fortresses, little use for tanks and aircraft carriers. There won't be a need for a draft or war bond drives or patriotic rallies. Instead we'll need professional soldiers tough working class guys and gals who make the uniform and the service their career. Fortunately we have plenty of those people in America. We'll need new high tech weaponry devices to see through walls, battle armor to protect individual soldiers, improved rifles and grenade launchers so our soldiers can battle in the streets and the woods. Thankfully America has lots of that stuff too and an ability to bring it to our soldiers as quickly as they need it. Yet when the dust clears in say 2040 or 2050 we'll be in a better world. A more peaceful world, where the great environmental crises will be over, although I'm sure the scars they left will be around for millions of years. The wars will be over, the terrorists will be history and the world will settle in for a long, long peace. A sort of golden age. Many of us alive will live to see it. A lot of us won't believe our eyes.

left and anti-semitism
The Next Frontier for the Hate America Left: Anti-Semitism, Holocaust Denial and Apologizing for Adolph Hitler By Daniel G. Jennings Fascism it seems is finally dead, as I write American and British troops are crushing what maybe the last fascist dictatorship on Earth, Saddam Hussein's Baath Party regime in Iraq. Yet even as Arab Lascism dies a sorry death in the streets of Bagdad, some American leftists seem to be giving one of fascism's worst elements, Anti-Semitism, new life. There is already what amounts to a whispering campaign of Anti-Semitism among leftists and peace activists in the United States. Leftists are angry at America's war in Iraq, the support of the American people for the war and what they see as the betrayal of their cause by the big media. There is already talk of a stab in the back to the peace movement. Like German veterans in 1918, American leftists are looking for somebody or something to blame their defeat on. And increasingly that somebody or something is the Jews. Left wing conspiracy theories are already beginning to spread on the Internet. A popular one involves a secret cabal of Washington insiders and oil company executives who met in 1975 and devised a secret strategy for American conquest of the Middle East. Naturally, the leader of this evil conspiracy is identified as a Jew, namely Henry Kissinger. Doesn't this sound a great deal like the Protocols of the Elder of Zion, the anti-Semitic fantasy that Jews met in Switzerland in the 1890s and planned World War I, the Russian Revolution and other disasters of the 20th Century? When I pointed out the overt Anti-Semitism in this line of thinking to some leftist correspondents in an e-mail the response I got was disturbing. The leftists attacked me, and then one of them, a practicing Jew, directed me to web sites of conservative Jewish groups who backed the war effort. He claimed this proved that there was some sort of link between Zionist support for Israel and the war effort echoing some of the worst rantings of Arab extremists. The leftists were sympathetic to the idea of anti-Semitism and inclined to believe that there is some sort of Jewish conspiracy behind this war. The ugly new side of the left is now beginning to seep into popular entertainment as well. A recent National Review contained a very disturbing piece by veteran culture critic Michael Medved. Medved wrote of a new plot line in a series of Captain America comic books. In the comic, Captain America, a character created by two Jewish Americans as a counterweight to Nazi propaganda, visits the German city of Dresden and learns of the needless death and suffering inflicted on German civilians by Allied bombing in World War II. Now this is disturbing and disgusting because the suffering of innocent German civilians under Allied bombardment is a constant theme of Holocaust deniers and Nazi sympathizers. These people try to use greatly inflated statistics about German casualties to elicit sympathy for the people who built Auschwitz. In other words left wing comic writers are trying to use a symbol of traditional American values to get American children to sympathize with the citizens of Nazi Germany!! And this isn't the work of Neo Nazis, it is the work of leftists. The Captain America comics described by Medved contain a great deal of left wing propaganda. Vicious terrorists who kill innocent Americans are shown as the innocent victims of American imperialism. The terrorist thugs actions are justified because they are poor peasants who were killed by American death squads in a third world country. The defense department is shown as corrupt and imperialistic. The US military is portrayed as the enemy of humanity. The US government is shown as evil, undemocratic and controlled by a sinister conspiracy. Will, in a future comic Captain America find himself battling the Elders of Zion?? These comic book plots and the popularity of Anti-Semitic conspiracy theories show the ugly new direction the American left is taking. What I wonder is next, movies or TV shows in which heroes battle evil Jewish conspiracies, left wing intellectuals writing "reassessments" of Adolph Hitler and Nazi Germany in which those evils are shown in a good light, best selling books blaming the two World Wars, Vietnam and the Gulf Wars on the Jews, left wing intellectuals on TV telling the public that no Jews died at Auschwitz and the Holocaust was a hoax staged by FDR and Churchill, Oliver Stone making a big budget movie blaming the assassinations of JFK and Martin Luther King on the Jews? Will there be college courses in which the Protocols of the Elders of Zion is taught as history? Will leftist intellectuals be raising money for the legal defense of skinheads and other racist thugs who are on trial for hate crimes? Will British pseudo historian and holocaust denier David Irving become a respectable speaker on the college lecture circuit and national public radio? These things may sound fantastic but they're no more fantastic than some of the things the left is already doing. Blaming the Sept. 11 atrocity on America, claiming that Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein are CIA agents, making big budget movies that portray the US government and the American military as Nazi like thugs, writing books comparing a Communist dictator Ho Chi Minh to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, calling Communist soldiers heroes and condemning the American soldiers who fought them as stormtroopers, saying that Fidel Castro's dictatorship is good for Cuban children, claiming that the CIA sold crack to blacks in the inner city and the US military assassinated Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy. Would anybody in 1960, have believed that by 2003, many educated Americans would regard their nation's military was evil and that thinking Americans believed the CIA was responsible for the killing of a President? Or that protestors would take to the streets to denounce America's war against terrorist forces out to destroy our nation. Yet it's happened. So don't be surprised in a few years to see a left wing college professor of Jewish heritage giving a speech on the World Jewish conspiracy at a "peace" rally and getting a standing ovation from a crowd of skinheads, prison gang members, Klansmen and Black Muslims. That is exactly where the left is heading.

Another Example of Post Propaganda
Denver Post Coverage of Arab World, Shallow, Simplistic, Distorted By Daniel G. Jennings Turning a news story into a shallow piece of propaganda that presents a journalist's personal opinions as the truth is easy if the reporter is willing to leave those facts that don't support his version of the news out of the story. Case in point a story called "Iraq's neighbors warn of backlash" by Bruce Finely on the front page of the March 13, Denver Post. The story claims that America could face hatred and resentment on the part of the majority of Arabs if it attacks Iraq and removes Saddam Hussein's bloody dictatorship. To support this thesis Mr. Finely presents a series of interviews with "average Arabs on the street" and quotes from "Arab public opinion leaders." The problem is that Finely neglects to give his readers some very important background details that would have called Finely's claims into question. First Finely interviews Moulatz Kalam the director of an English language school in Damascus, Syria. Finley reports that Kalam said America could face an Arab backlash if it attacks Iraq and removes Saddam. Unfortunately Finely neglects to tell his readers that Syria's government is a fascist dictatorship run by the Baathist Party. The Baathist Party is an extreme Arab nationalist movement modeled after the German Nazi Party. That's right the leaders of a number of Arab neighbors consider Adolph Hitler and his Third Reich worthy role models, when was the last time you saw that wonderful fact reported in an American news source? The same political party that also rules Iraq. Isn't it likely that the citizen of a police state like Syria would parrot the party line? Isn't it an interesting coincidence that Mr. Kalam's statements sound a great deal like those from Syrian dictator Bashar Assad? Could Mr. Kalam's new found anti-Americanism have really been triggered by the Syrian secret policeman who was undoubtedly watching the interview and taking notes. If Mr. Kalam had said anything other than the party line, he could have been dragged away to a dungeon and tortured or even murdered by President Assad's police. His property could have been seized, his business shut down and his family pitched into the streets. The public statements of the citizens of a police state are not to be trusted or believed. After all such people live in fear of secret police terror and professional informants who make their living turning in their neighbors who don't go along with whatever the party line is this week. If this wasn't bad enough Mr. Finely quotes Syrian President Assad as if he were a statesman. President Assad is nothing but a cheap gangster who got his job by inheriting it from his father. President Assad lives a comfortable lifestyle and has amassed a huge fortune by oppressing the people of Syria. Could President Assad's real motives in opposing American action against Iraq be that he fears the toppling of Saddam will bring down his dictatorship and end his life of pleasure and wealth? Perhaps President Assad is afraid that America might remove him from office next? Then there's a quote from Ali Orsan of the Arab Writer's Union who is simply referred to as a "public opinion leader." Nowhere does Finley say who Ali Orsan is and what the Arab Writer's Union is. Nor does he say why this makes Ali a "public opinion leader."I don't know what the Arab Writer's Union is, but it sure sounds like a front for the propaganda ministry of some Arab regime afraid of losing power if dictatorships start falling in that part of the world. Why I wonder is the Denver Post putting such an inaccurate and poorly researched story on its front page? Could it be that this story squares with the prejudices and opinions of the paper's editors? Could the editors at the Denver Post be putting their own opinions ahead of the truth. I also have to wonder about Mr. Finley and his brand of journalism could traveling around the Middle East on a paid vacation with an expense account be more important to him than the truth? After all, if Mr. Finely were to write the truth about the Assad family's despotism in Syria, he would be thrown out of that country and never allowed to see the Roman ruins there. He might have to come back home and start covering the police beat again. At a time when America faces a more dangerous and complex world than ever before it is imperative that Americans get a complete and accurate picture of what's going on in other countries. It's obvious that the present editors at the Denver Post have no desire to do this, so perhaps it is time for a change in administration in the Post newsroom. Maybe it's time that Denver's advertisers and subscribers demanded fair and accurate reporting and good journalism from our largest newspaper because it's obvious that the Post's editors aren't willing to do that.

President George W. Bush
George W. Bush is the most radical president that we've had in a long, long time. He's pursuing the most aggressive and radical foreign policy America has seen since Harry Truman's day and he's proposing the most comprehensive changes to domestic government since Lyndon Johnston's great society. In terms of foreign policy Bush is using America's military forces to invade other countries and change their regimes. Something that no American president has been willing to do except in the case of a military attack. Bush's unprovoked but I believe just and necessary war in Iraq is the biggest foreign policy is the biggest foreign policy gamble a president has taken since LBJ went into Vietnam. Bush's faith based iniative and continuing tax cuts are the most radical domestic policy changes since LBJ. The interesting thing about these radical changes is the fact that Bush himself is not a radical. He's a conservative who has adopted these radical policies because he feels he has no choice. Bush feels that the only way he can secure America's future and world peace is to occupy the Middle East and take aggressive action against terrorists. Bush feels that he must radically alter our social and domestic policies. I must say I'm rather impressed by Bush he has a lot more guts than I gave him credit for and more brains too. I thought him rather stupid at first. The faith based initiative is the stupidest and most short sighted policy I've heard of in a long time. My guess is that Bush will go down in history as a great President like Abraham Lincoln or Harry Truman. An average man of great intelligence and ability who rose to the occassion presented by great events and trying times and proved himself a great leader. Like Truman, Bush was something of a failure before he went into politics. He did little in business and spent his life in his father's shadow. Like Truman Bush has made difficult decisions that were not necessarily popular. Truman desegregated the military, supported civil rights and launched the Marshall Plan against popular opinion. At the time he was mocked and labeled a failure. Bush has done the same thing. Like Truman Now Bush has revealed himself to be a great man because he's taken action. Bush has stepped up to the plate and done what's right and ignored the critics and the naysayers. That's what makes a great leader. And as always when a leader does the right thing the people will back him. My guess is that Bush will be attacked and mocked and ridiculed throughout his term and for the first couple of decades after he leaves office. Then sometime about the year 2030 the historians will rediscover him and realize that he was a great leader after all. Just like what happened with Truman.

Hollywood's Big Lie
Hollywood's Big Lie By Daniel G. Jennings One of the oldest, simplest and most effective techniques of propaganda is called "the big lie." It works like this: you merely repeat a lie over and over again in as many ways as possible in hopes that people will start believing it. Hollywood is now using the big lie to get film goers around the world to swallow a horrendous myth as the truth. The myth is that the US government was somehow responsible for the Sept. 11 terrorist atrocity. That Bin Laden was an ex CIA agent or trained by the government. That America was behind Sept. 11, so America's war on terror is unjustified, illegal and immoral. The tinseltown liberals are putting the myth into all manner of movies. In the big budget comic book film "X-2" (sequel to the successful "X-Men" and number one movie in America in early May), the bad guys (shown as rogue elements of the US military, anti-government terrorists are the good guys) fake a terrorist attack on the President to get government approval for an illegal military action against an oppressed minority. This plot appears in what is supposed to be fun summer movie aimed largely at a young audience. In the critically acclaimed Fox TV series "24" evil elements of the government are responsible for a nuclear terrorist attack on the US. These movie and TV plots try to convey the big lie to the public in fictionalized form. The lie being that the government itself and not Islamic extremists are behind the terrorist attacks against our great nation. That some shadowy cartel of CIA agents, generals, politicians and big business faked the terror attacks in order to justify its imperialist aggression against other countries and violation of civil liberties. Worst of all, award winning documentary film maker Michael Moore is planning a documentary called Farenhiegt 911 which will show the "connection" between President George W. Bush and Bin Laden. Disney has agreed to finance and distribute this travesty. Moore has already won an Oscar for a film that blamed the Columbine High School massacre on the Pentagon. Now he wants to insult the memory of the Sept. 11 survivors in order to promote his sick politics. Hollywood's spreading of the big lie won't change Americans' minds about Sept. 11 or the War on Terror. Nor will it change the ugly truth that we are in the middle of a war with a cadre of vicious fanatics who want to kill us and destroy our nation and our way of life. Unfortunately, Hollywood's big lie will stoke the fires of anti-Americanism and increase hatred of the United States. These TV and movie myths will affect the sick minds of already deluded people and spark some of them to violence. Such propaganda won't change American minds but it will serve as an effective recruiting tool for Bin Laden and all the would be Bin Ladens out there. Americans and other innocents will die at the hands of fools who believe Hollywood's big lie. Some of their blood will be on the hands of the Hollywood liars and those who finance their propaganda. It is time that Americans and our political leaders in Washington demand that the big corporations that own the Hollywood studios stop financing, distributing and producing movies and TV shows that promote anti-American propaganda as entertainment or worse as historical fact. It is also time we demand that big corporations stop advertising on such programs or conduct media campaigns in conjunction with such propaganda. In particular we must demand that Hollywood stop telling the big lie and that those Hollywood types who can't stop telling it be kicked out of the entertainment industry. Yes this would be blacklisting but sometimes blacklisting is good. Especially when the blacklist targets those individuals who are hurting America, America's friends and America's reputation with their vicious propaganda.

First entry
Welcome to my blog. I'm a freelance writer and former journalist who will write and comment on a wide variety of subjects most of them in the news. Since I'm a former journalist, I'll comment on the current scandal at the New York Times. Basically a young reporter at the nation's premier newspaper in the nation's number one city faked 36 stories and got away with it. Naturally the conservative media is having a field day about this one. They're claiming that since the bad reporter happens to be black affirmative action must be to blame. That's nonsense, a reporter of any color could have gotten away with that garbage at a big metro daily. The reason this happened had little to do with color and everything to do with the way reporters are hired today. Until twenty or thirty years ago if you wanted to be a reporter at a big metro daily you needed to put in your dues. You went to work there sometimes in high school, and worked as a copy boy for three or four years. Then they let you write basic stories like the police beat. After ten or twelve years you'd get to be a real reporter. Or you started out at some small newspaper in a smaller city and worked your way up. What this meant was that the people who got to be reporters had a lot of experience. Today you get to be a reporter at a big newspaper by going to the right journalism school and getting the right professor to write a letter of recommendation to the editor for you. That way you can get a six month internship leading to a reporter's job. This means that most of the reporters at the nation's major newspapers have little or no experience beyond working there. The reporters have their jobs because they went to the right school. Is it any wonder these people buy any left wing propaganda? To make matters worse these people work almost completely unsupervised. Decades ago they had dozens of editors and rewrite men at the major papers. There were dozens of experienced hardened old time journalists looking over young reporters shoulders and making sure they did their job. Today, the editor is three or four years older than the reporter and less experienced than the reporter. Worse the paper is understaffed so the editors don't have the time to supervise the reporters or edit their stories if they want to. The budget cutting media executives got rid of all the copy editors. The sad thing of course is this garbage at the NY Times is only the tip of the iceberg it's going on at the media. The only good thing is we're hearing about the mess. Twenty years ago if this went on it would have been quietly covered up, the reporter would have been paid off and we wouldn't have heard of it. This reporter would have went on and worked at a dozen other papers and did the same thing. Today the Times came right out and admitted what had happened because they were scared that some web site would out them and embarass them. The question we have to ask is: will the big media learn from this or not? I don't know. Hopefully they will.
